Hartlip Village Hall - Facilities

When parking, easy access to the defibrillator must be allowed.

The Village Hall consists of the main hall with a large stage, a meeting room, a smaller "school room" and a well-equipped kitchen and toilet accommodation. The village hall is centrally heated throughout and is also served by a generous car park in front of the building.

Tables and chairs are available for use in all of the rooms.

If you wish to book any of the rooms in the village hall, it is useful to check first to see if the facility you need is in regular use. This can be done on the "activities" page. Many of the activities shown there have breaks that often coincide with school holidays. So the room they use might be vacant during those times.

Main Hall

Recently redecorated, this is the largest room, and can accommodate up to 100 people depending on the nature of the event.

Chairs and tables are available. Some of the set of 100 chairs are stored on the stage, as shown in the photo, and the remainder are found in the Meeting Room. Tables are stored in the stock room, the door to which is in the school room. Any chairs and tables taken from the store or other rooms in the village hall should be returned to their original locations at the end of any booking.

To comply with Fire Regulations, the following maximum capacities must not be exceeded:

Dances, discos and similar – max. 100 persons
Seated events, theatre style – max. 100 persons
Seated events with tables – max. 95 persons

The Main Hall is accessed from the main door leading from the car park.

Meeting Room

A medium-sized room which is suitable for meetings or, if the whole hall is hired, makes a useful space for seating if, for example, the main hall is being used as a disco.

Some of the set of 100 chairs are found in the Meeting Room, the remainder are found on the stage in the Main Hall. Tables are stored in the stock room. Any chairs and tables taken from the store or other rooms in the village hall should be returned to their original locations at the end of any booking. To comply with Fire Regulations, the maximum capacity of this room is 60.

The Meeting Room is accessed by the west path, that is the path along the allotment side of the village hall. At the end of the hall is the door into the Meeting Room.

School Room

This is a small room that is suitable for meetings of small groups of around 10 to 20.

Chairs are available from the Main Hall stage or Meeting Room. Tables are stored in the stock room. Any chairs and tables taken from the store should be returned there at the end of any booking. To comply with Fire Regulations, the maximum capacity of this room is 30.

The School Room is accessed by the door at the end of the hall on the east side, that is the street side of the village hall.

Kitchen

A well-equipped kitchen with cooking and washing facilities. This is accessed through the School Room.

The kitchen cannot be booked separately and is available for use by anyone booking the other rooms.
