Hartlip Village Hall - Activities

The activities and groups that regularly use Hartlip Village Hall are briefly described below. If you would like to join any of the groups, contact details are provided in the descriptions.

If you wish to book any of the rooms in the village hall, it is useful to check here first to see if the facility you need is in use. But note that many of the activities below have breaks that often coincide with school holidays. So the room they use might be vacant during those times.

Enquiries are welcome from anyone who would like to hire the hall on a more regular basis. For general enquiries or for a specific "one-off" booking please use the "contact us/booking" link in the menu. You will find two forms which you may use email us, one for general enquiries and one for a specific booking request.

Fifty-five Plus Club

The Club was founded in the late 1980s by Hartlip resident Dennis Lansdowne, who recognised the need for a social outlet for the senior citizens of this small village and the surrounding area.

The Club was very soon fully subscribed and has remained so ever since, there very often being a waiting list for membership.

Meetings are held in the Village Hall on alternate Monday evenings with speakers on a variety of subjects and “business” meetings to arrange the Club outings, holidays and larger social occasions.

The Club organises two holidays a year in Spring and Autumn, one coach outing a month between March and November and various other activities such as a Summer Garden Party and a Christmas Dinner at the local Golf Club.

The Club is now organised by Chairman Mr Dave Elliot. Telephone contact: Dave Elliot on 01795 844865.
