HVHMC has, throughout the Pandemic, been monitoring and obliging all Government guidelines closely, closing the hall when expected to do so including Lockdown 3.
We were keen to see the details of the Government’s Roadmap out of Lockdown on 22 February 2021 and then started to tighten plans for re-opening. A promise had been made to re-open and re-start regular activities as soon as legally permitted and safe to do so as the importance of these activities to some residents is well known.
The facility (hall and its car park) must be Covid-secure for it to be permitted to re-open and this is liable to be checked.
All hirers must be sure to operate all aspects of their activity with full regard to Covid advice and restrictions, from managing the car park and arrival into the hall through to the departure of their clients.
Close communication between the management committee and regular hirers has been maintained since March 2020 in order to re-open when possible.
Most recently, April 12th permitted some activities to re-start and they did.
May 17th increases the range of permitted activities and they will be available from that date.
The re-opening will be monitored by the management committee and activity leaders with communication to ensure that all parties are safe.
During closure a great deal of maintenance and improvement works have taken place at the hall including refitting and upgrading the kitchen, ladies, gents and disabled toilets and re-roofing the Main Hall roof which was in a sorry state.
Much more work, largely invisible to hall visitors, has also been done to ensure that the fabric of the hall continues to be improved.
Thanks go to all members of the HVH team for their contributions.
We look forward to initially welcoming regular activities back and, all being well, other hirers as the roadmap progresses.
Bookings for Occasional Hires will be taken going forward and we hope that there will be no further need for closure.
All bookings will, of course, have to be subject to any Government restrictions in force at the time.
