Since the first warnings of Covid-19, HVHMC has been referring, on a daily basis, to Government advice and the advice of professional bodies who work to support village halls.
HVHMC has also been in one-to-one contact with all Regular Hirers to determine necessary action concerning all activities which take place at the hall.
Each Regular Hirer, in turn, is liaising with their participants. Some, because of the vulnerability of their participants, made a very early decision to suspend their activity. Others were able to continue a little longer.
Hartlip Village Hall is shut to support the Government strategy for social distancing.
HVHMC understands that HVH is a vital village resource and that many members of the community have, in recent years, been enjoying the range of activities available. Rest assured that both HVHMC and the organisers of these activities want them to resume as soon as possible.
Should anyone wish to contact HVHMC with a view to a future booking, they are very welcome to do so but acceptance will depend upon the date being sufficiently far ahead.
Any bookings taken will be on the basis of HVHMC and the potential hirer keeping in touch and ‘firming up’ the booking would be subject to official advice regarding Covid-19.
This serious and unprecedented situation obviously puts HVHMC under pressure as hires provide the halls only income. HVHMC will be considering this carefully and monitoring what help, if any, is available.
In the meantime, please stay safe and let’s all look after one another.
